Printmaking Workshop

Join us this February for our Poster and Printmaking Workshop. This workshop will be held on Saturday, February 1st from 3:00 - 5:00 PM. This workshop highlights the artistic history, aesthetic, and technique of two of Edgar Miller's most iconic medium: stained glass windows and stone-tile mosaics.

Led by artist and graphic novelist, Hannah Dykstra, this workshop will allow attendees to learn and practice the process for linocut printmaking and poster card design in the style of Edgar Miller. Attendees will select or create their own print template, and cut their own linoleum block during this workshop, to create their own Miller-inspired printed pieces to take home. This workshop will showcase various examples of Miller's prints--particularly the inspired design-work currently on display at DePaul Art Museum's Edgar Miller: Anti-Modern, 1917-1967 exhibition.

Registration fees include all necessary materials and equipment to create a frameable or usable decorative stained glass piece of art. Come and spend a fun evening of learning and hands-on crafting, exploring the aesthetic of tile mosaics. Light snacks and drinks will be provided during the workshop!

This workshop will take place in partnership with Art on Sedgwick and at their art center located at 1408 N Sedgwick St, Chicago, IL 60610.
