Join us this November for our Stained Glass Tile Mosaic Workshop. This workshop will be held on Saturday, December 14th from 3:00 - 5:00 PM. This workshop highlights the artistic history, aesthetic, and technique of two of Edgar Miller's most iconic medium: stained glass windows and stone-tile mosaics.

Led by contemporary Chicago artist-designer, Sharon Bladholm, these workshops will allow attendees to learn and practice the process for cut-glass design and tile-work in the style of Edgar Miller. Attendees will select or create their own mosaic pattern or image, select their own tiles and glass, and cut their own stained glass during this workshop, to create their own Miller-inspired fixed glass mosaic piece to make and take home. Each session will showcase examples of Miller's tile and mosaic art piece--particularly the inspired design-work currently on display at DePaul Art Museum's Edgar Miller: Anti-Modern, 1917-1967 exhibition, as well as stained glass windows that still decorate spaces like Miller's handmade homes today.

Registration fees include all necessary materials and equipment to create a frameable or usable decorative stained glass piece of art. Come and spend a fun evening of learning and hands-on crafting, exploring the aesthetic of tile mosaics. Light snacks and drinks will be provided during the workshop!

This workshop will take place at Art on Sedgwick art center located at 1408 N Sedgwick St, Chicago, IL 60610.

Attendees under the age of 13 will be required to be accompanied by an adult.
