Fireplace
Edgar Miller
1946
Fireplaces were an interior design element where Miller found boundless opportunities for completely refreshing his idea palette. Throughout the home, there are a total of five fireplaces, including this one. This tile-clad fireplace is perhaps the most simple. Its pattern follows from the design layout of the floor tile beneath, and comes neatly together as the pattern launches vertically upward. Appearing along the front of the fireplace is a triangle or zig-zag pattern in black and white tile, drawing inspiration from other similar motifs seen throughout the home on other levels.
